Ships of the lakes
The archive also celebrates the big vessels of the Great Lakes that pass our stretch of the river:
- Paul R. Tregurtha - 1,013', built 1981; the longest freighter on the lakes, featured on Discovery Channel's "Mighty Ships"
- Bluenose II - 151' schooner, Smith & Rhuland built, 1963
- Royalist - gaff-rigged square topsail ketch, 68' sparred length, built 1971 in Nova Scotia
- J.W. Shelley - 730' bulk carrier, Collingwood 1968
- Algolake - 730' self-unloading freighter, 1976
- USCG Mackinaw (WAGB-83) - 290' icebreaker, 1944, decommissioned 2006, moored in Mackinaw City
- USCG WLBB-30 - 240' heavy icebreaker, Marinette Marine, 2005
- 2009 powerboat races in St. Clair - and the odd tall ship at dawn
