Just like most vintage boat owners, our customers are eager to show off their beauties. For years the yard has kept a "Featured Boat of the Month" - a mix of customer classics and notable vessels of the Great Lakes. Here are highlights from the archive.

Ships of the lakes

The archive also celebrates the big vessels of the Great Lakes that pass our stretch of the river:

  • Paul R. Tregurtha - 1,013', built 1981; the longest freighter on the lakes, featured on Discovery Channel's "Mighty Ships"
  • Bluenose II - 151' schooner, Smith & Rhuland built, 1963
  • Royalist - gaff-rigged square topsail ketch, 68' sparred length, built 1971 in Nova Scotia
  • J.W. Shelley - 730' bulk carrier, Collingwood 1968
  • Algolake - 730' self-unloading freighter, 1976
  • USCG Mackinaw (WAGB-83) - 290' icebreaker, 1944, decommissioned 2006, moored in Mackinaw City
  • USCG WLBB-30 - 240' heavy icebreaker, Marinette Marine, 2005
  • 2009 powerboat races in St. Clair - and the odd tall ship at dawn
